WHAT IS
NICOTINE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (NRT)?
Nicotine
products such as Patches, Tablets, Inhaler(Filter) and Gum are often called Nicotine
Replacement Therapy, or NRT for short. They help you to deal with nicotine
withdrawal cravings, and double your chances of successfully going smokefree. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) gives your
body nicotine without the harmful effects of smoking or chewing tobacco. The
idea is to gradually reduce your addiction by using a low nicotine dose to take
the edge off the cravings.
There are
many options available in addition to nicotine patches and gum, including
microtabs (small tablets), lozenges, nasal sprays and inhalators. You can get

4 mg for those who smoke 25
or more cigarettes a day
If you smoke less than 25 cigarettes a day: use Nicorette 2mg

To Increase Your Success in Quitting:
- You
must be motivated to quit.
- Use
Enough - Chew
at least 9 pieces of Nicorette per day during the first six weeks.

Instructions
for use
For adults and children 12 years and
over. Insert cartridge into plastic mouthpiece (as directed), inhale through
mouthpiece as required, using a maximum of 12 cartridges per day. Before use

3. Nicoratte: Nicorette Step 3 – 5mg/10mg/15mg 7 Patches -16 hours
The
NICORETTE Patch is a discreet, easy-to-use, once-a-day solution to help you
deal with the cravings and withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting smoking.
It is most suitable for you if you are a regular smoker who smokes throughout
the day.
How does it work?
The NICORETTE Patch helps you to quit by delivering a continuous, controlled
dose of nicotine into your body to help relieve cravings and withdrawal
symptoms. The nicotine is released through your skin over 16 hours. It is
absorbed quite slowly compared to smoking a cigarette so you should be prepared
to wait a little while longer for the nicotine to get into your system.
How do I use the NICORETTE Patch?
For your NICORETTE Patch to work it is important that you use it properly, so
make sure that you read through all the instructions carefully.
Do:
-Apply
one fresh NICORETTE Patch first thing every morning.
-Remove the Patch before going to bed and dispose of it safely.
-Apply the Patch to a clean, dry, hairless area of skin. E.g. hip, upper arm,
upper thigh or chest.
Don't:
-Apply
the Patch to the same spot of skin two days running as this can cause
irritation.
-Use the Patch on broken or inflamed skin.
-Smoke while you are wearing the Patch.
Active Ingredients:
Nicotine
5mg/16hours.
Dosage:
Apply
in the morning and remove before bedtime.Use 15mg/16hours patches for 8
weeks- 10mg/16hours for 2 weeks - 5mg/16hours for 2 weeks. Treatment
should not be continued after the 12-week course.
Warnings:
Do
not use in pregnancy or breast-feeding. If you have coronary heart disease,
consult your doctor before using this product.
Purpose:
Nicorette
patches are very easy to use. You simply put one on in the morning and take
it off at bedtime. That way you get a constant low dose of nicotine delivered
over approximately 16 hours while you are awake and need it.
